Dr. Teagan Vander Straten - Veterinarian

Dr. Teagan Vander Straten is thrilled to be joining the team at Old Town Veterinary Hospital.

She grew up in the Austin area and completed both her undergraduate and veterinary studies at Texas A&M University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and is a proud former member of Parsons Mounted Cavalry and the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating magna cum laude. Since then, she has been practicing small animal general practice in the greater Austin area before joining the team here at Old Town!

Dr. Vander Straten’s professional interests include dentistry, surgery, dermatology, and preventive medicine. She enjoys partnering with pet owners to develop personalized care plans that fit each pet’s unique needs and lifestyle. Known for her clear, compassionate communication and gentle approach, she strives to make every veterinary visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible for both pets and their families.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Vander Straten enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with her blue heeler mix, Tobin, and her bunny rabbit, Harlow.
